Just to throw a thought in the fray...

Spend a few extra bucks and get the PowerBook with the DVD burner
instead. 4.7 GB of storage per disk versus 700 MB, and you get a larger
hard drive. Having that G4 under the hood really does make a
difference!!!! especially when it comes to processing audio and video
and graphics. If she even comes close to using PhotoShop or iMovie then
the time saved alone will make up for the extra bucks she will spend.

                                Jerry

p.s If all she will do is type papers and play on the 'net, and listen
to music, then the iBook is the better value. Ask her what she will be
using it for. The iBook can do amazing things (or I should say mine
does), but compared to the PowerBook, it is slow and cannot do some of
the higher end things.
