Save that ram and system board. Pitt has a few of these. The system
board could be a good spare, if your just going to set it out to the
trash afterwards.
If I remember correctly, remove the bottom screws and give the bottom a
good firm tug and it will pop off. Then Remove the screws for the silver
shielding and the hard drive and cd rom should both be on a carrier that
you can remove.

Thanks,

Subject: MacGroup: Open original iMac Case?

Hi All,

I have an original (first ) iMac which is dead--power supply and cd--and

I don't want to fix it. But I want to remove the hard drive and put it
in a firewire enclosure so my daughter can have her old stuff if she
needs it on her new iMac.
How do I get the case open? Is there a diagram somewhere I can go to
without spending an hour navigating a site I'm not familiar with?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ann
