The ? mark in front of the name seems a bit odd, I wonder if the drive 
has been mis-named somehow...

There is another alternative (a 3rd party) that you might consider, if 
you cannot get this working with print center (or with the Epson Printer 
Utility -- Epson's version of print center)

The product is called Gimp-Print, and it has a whole slew of printers 
drivers (including some that probably will not ever be supported by 
their manufacturers!!!)

Note to others: This supports many other printers than just the Epson 
line.

The upside is that many folks claim to get better print results (and 
more control) than the native drivers supplied by the manufacturers.
The down-side is that you really do need 10.2 or newer to use it, as it 
relies on a technology called CUPS (which is not present in pre-10.2 
OS-X).
