Now I get it!  VCD and SVCD are FORMATS!!  Things are making better 
sense now.

Thanks for the links.  I've looked at both toast and mirex; now to 
decide whether or not to purchase so I can save $ by buying CDs instead 
of DVDs.   I need to remember the math for determining how many disks I 
would need to burn on CD instead of DVD in order to pay for the 
software.  :)
