That means that your internet connection is off, perhaps temporarily. 
If you go to "Mailbox" in the menu bar and click on Mailbox, it will 
give you "online status"  Here it will say "take ---mikewatkins @ ----  
online " . Click on it and it will probably take you back online.  I 
have macmail as well as insightbb, and sometimes they seem to perform 
some tasks that will take you off.
