I found a cool little program today (via tuaw.com) called Remote Buddy.

Basically it gives a lot more functionality to the remote that ships
with the new macs.

With Remote Buddy you can use the Apple Remote to control Keynote/
PowerPoint, PhotoBooth, Quicktime, VLC, and a whole bunch more.

Now while that sounded intriguing, what sold me on the app is that
you can use it as a virtual Keyboard and mouse. Just using the
directional buttons you can move the mouse around your screen and use
the play/pause button to click.

It's pretty slick.

ps. it only costs 9.99 euros, which translates into roughly $13 US.
