I have a DVD supposedly without a region code. I play it on my iMac OS
X3.9 it plays and does not ask me to set a region code.
Now my iBook (Tiger) asks me to set a region code, or better, it showed
the region code 1. Before I could play the DVD, I had to click OK which
now , I suppose, has my DVD player set for our region. However, I would
rather not have to set a code, but a zero is not at all an option. -
I would rather not be limited to five times to change my code and then,
because I can't remember, might end up only being able to play Asian
tapes or rather Europen tapes, because region 2 would be the only other
code I would play.
I just need some explanation : Does setting a region code change the
computer setting only, or does it also mark the DVD as one for that
region, or does this setting have no effect on the DVD proper? And why
this arbitrary set for 5 times?
