Need Input,

Folks, the networks that I use (two of them, one connected to DSL,
the other with broadband cable) work fine together, amazing how Apple
"coordinates" all this, but the firm that I FTP into out of Chicago
does not like the IP address that is sometime assigned by the Airport
Express routers, this I don't understand for I can FTP anyone else,
but the CBOT does not like the IP addresses that begin with 76....(a
two digit number followed by a three, etc.), once the routers change
the IP to a three digit number than I can get the data, I have been
struggling with this for a long while.

Since I need a static IP address for myself to access the server
while away I may as well solve this problem by getting set up with
such. I have a question as to the difficulty of doing this with the
Airport Express being the front end to the system. I will be using
the DSL connection for this, SBC tells me that currently I have a 1
meg upload and a 3 meg download, I doubt that, but I am paying $26.00
+ change a month for this. For a total cost of 50. something per
month I can have the same speed up and down and get the 5 static IP
addressed. Supposedly for 3 meg. up and 6 down I can have the 5
static IP's and it will cost 79.00 + change a month. A good deal?

I also have a couple questions:

Will I still be able to use the Airport in front of the static IPs?

Is there an easy setup to assign an IP address behind the Airport
router for the machines that I want to have the static IP?

Do I have to do anything special to protect myself from the outside
prying world, or will the Airport handle this?

Anything else I need to be aware of will sure be appreciated.

Thanks, may each of you have a great 4th.
