Myolddog's question gives me pause to wonder. For years the Mac community railed against microsoft for contolling the windows arena - windows, IE, Outlook, etc. etc. Yet when Apple does the same thing with OS X - ical, addressbook, mail, etc.) its as if Moses has not only come down from the mount but also made it into the promised land.
Don' t get me wrong, I own two Macs and hope to move up to a G5. I think Jobs's vision is amazing, yet the only real difference between Jobs' vision of the computing world and Gates' vision is that Gates controls a significantly greater portion of that world than Jobs. Remember, I'm not talking about platforms I'm talking about how Gates and Jobs control the applications used on their respective platforms.
