Ray-

My personal advice to your co-worker would be to update the Illustrator 
and Quark programs, and forget about running Classic. That's what I did, 
I updated MS Works, Photoshop, Vector, Filemaker, and some others and I 
have never been sorry.  I now use system 10.3.4 without Classic on my 
G5,  and I'm very happy how things turned out.
