Hey Guys, Let me add a twist to Cathy?s suggestion.
Maybe an iPod meeting where everyone brings their favorite ipod accessory to demonstrate to the group. It could be a simple show and tell of their favorite case or skin, but I?m thinking more along the lines of the typical accessories one would find on the Apple site i.e. FM transmitters, cassette adapters for the car, microphones, auto ipod holders and chargers, third party earbuds, media readers, socks, battery packs, etc. Now as most of us know, all the standard iPods are, in essence, glorified firewire hard drives. And I suspect that many know that you can install OS X on a firewire drive and boot from it as well. What tickled Cathy?s fancy was my telling her that I had an iPod whose primary use was not to play music. Simply put, I installed OS X on to my iPod and loaded all my favorite diagnostic utilities. It beats carrying around a pack of diagnostic CDs and overcomes an occasional problem as well, such as not having a Disk Warrior CD that will boot a G5. I vote for an accessory show and tell night. I just upgraded to a 60 gb iPod Photo. Plan to use it for music, storage device for digital image files and as a diagnostic drive. ctw On Feb 28, 2005, at 8:10 AM, Green, Cathy wrote: > Greetings all: > At the last meeting, I inquired with some if they'd be interested in any type > of presentation on getting more bang for the iPod buck.?
