Hey folks,

When I had asked folks what they wanted for programming last December,
there was a big chime of "using a palm with my Mac".

Now there seems to be a bunch of iPod mania.

Here's what I had thought would be good, because of past experience and
because of other suggestions:

. something dealing with iWork, simply because there are plenty of
folks using AppleWorks who think it is, uh, not so great any more.

. something to do with genealogy, because it was always a really big
hit in other mac groups I've been in, and because Tom knows a lot about
it.

. something showing off the Geographic Info System stuff for
Louisville, which has photo maps of the city along with all sorts of
other overlays (services like sewer and curious things, like politics).
This was suggested by a person in the user group who knew someone who
knew nothing about Macs, but was interested, and who worked with the
folks who supply the service.

Of course, this set of topics doesn't come close to including iPod and
Palm requests. Of course, I also have volunteers for the previous 3
items.

Would anyone want to volunteer for an iPod and or Palm talk? If so,
here's what I would think would be good:

The iPod accessories game could be cool if there were things that are
somehow related to computers more than to blind consumption - like
pieces of freeware or shareware or other good utilities which make iPod
life nicer in a functional form, rather than in appearance. After all,
anyone can look up the latter easily on the web. The former requires a
trusted testing source, which the user group can provide.

The Palm game would also be fine, if it focussed on functionality.

Also - lemme know what priority you would give to the 5 topics listed.
To make life easier, I'd prefer if you could just mark the following
with numbers one to five. Also, if you think you could present on iPods
or the Palm, say so.

. iWork
. Genealogy
. Mapping of Louisville
. iPod
. Palm
