I think one of the main reasons CRTs are going to lose out in the end 
is that they're a lot heavier. I can move a 40 inch plasma TV by 
myself, but it takes a crane to move a big CRT because of all the 
leaded glass. When Scotty's transparent aluminum starts getting used 
more widely in CRTs, I may change my mind.

This is also ignoring the problems of radiation, magnetic fields, heat 
and higher power consumption.
