Which version of Exchange are you running? I believe versions prior to
2003 don't support LDAP properly--at least, that stuff didn't start
working here until IS upgraded the mail server to Exchange 2003.

Subject: MacGroup: Mail, Exchange & LDAP Question

We are upgrading to OSX and I had planned on using Entourage for mail,
but it appears that MS is not selling it as a standalone product anymore
and we don't need everyone to have the full version of Office. I'm
looking at using Apple's mail but we've been trying to set it up to use
our LDAP server and not having much luck. It doesn't look up the names.
I tried setting LDAP up in Address Book but when we launch Address Book
and click on Preferences or anything in the window we get the spinning
beach ball and it never does anything. This happens on more than one
machine. We running Panther and I have installed all the latest software
updates.
