Always a little slow to come around to change, I am finally getting around to
upgrading my home machine to Jaguar after becoming somewhat comfortable with it
at work. I ordered the Jaguar upgrade CD sometime ago and am just now finding
time to backup everything and install all the necessary software updates too.

My computer is an older G4 which shipped with both OS 9 and X installed. It
originally had 9.1 and 10.0.3 installed. I tried to install my Jaguar upgrade
and received a message that I cannot upgrade the version of the OS I'm
currently running.

I downloaded and installed the 10.0.4 upgrade but it still won't let me install
the upgrade. I see where there was a 10.1 update at one time on Apple's site,
but when I click on the link to it I'm sent to a page about upgrading to
Jaguar.

I thought maybe I could run Software Update from the OS X side of things, but
I'm using AOL as my internet provider and cannot get a connection in this older
version of OS X. ( AOL will only work with 10.1 or higher.) So can anyone tell
me where to go from here?

Thanks,
Beth
