This may get into a grey area, BUT... Since you do actually own the work on lp, cassette or both in some cases, why don't you fire up a file sharing program and just search for it? Chances are someone has already done the work for you. Depending on the age of the music there's also a very good chance that it was ripped from a cd instead of a transfer from other media.
