Hey Folks, I have a customer running Appleworks 6.0.4 on one iMac and version 6.1.2 on another iMac running under OS 9.1. Over a period of time (several weeks to several months), AppleWorks will start to exhibit undue delays (the spinning pinwheel) when opening documents or multiple documents. I've been unable to figure out the problem short of reinstalling Appleworks which seems to cure the problem (again, for several weeks to months until it reoccurs again).
Its not a file issue as all the files are straight text and several pages in length at most. I've tried allocating more RAM to the app but that doesn't help. Deleted AppleWorks prefs with no positive effect. Because of the different versions of Appleworks being used, I would conclude the problem is not version specific. There's no strange third party stuff. This person does run Communicator, iTunes and has the MacLinkPlus translators version 11 installed (hmmm).
