Mike,
I have Bellsouth but not the home networking option. I have the
Bellsouth DSL modem going into my Airport Extreme. IT was a little bit of a
problem to get things going initially but nothing that the average Joe
couldn't overcome (after all, I did it!). I don't know why you would need
BellSouth's assistance.
Things are pretty smooth but problems still crop up, not with the
network but with BellSouth's service in general. I recently bought an iSight
and have not yet been able to get it to work. Apparently, BellSouth has
certain "ports" blocked that let audio and visual work smoothly. At this
point, others can see me but I can't see them. I've been working with their
tech support as well an Apple's.
I've been driving the folks at MacTown crazy asking if I can try and
connect after each change we make. I'm down to the last 1-2 options and I
think I will have it then.
