Hi: Thanks to JF online and a lot of helpful members who took time to explain at the OS X meeting on Tuesday, the basics of managing digital imaging files are now in focus. thanks so much to all who answered all my questions. I hope I didn't take up too much of the group's time.
Now that I am no longer paralyzed with fear of photoshop, I have a question about scanning black and white negatives. I had thought I would buy a Nikon 5000 or a Konica Minolta 5400 II (at least until I read that the company is out of the photo business) for this purpose. From what I have read here and elsewhere, people who know what they're doing get good results with most color negs and slides with these scanners but bw negs, especially those not exposed with scanning in mind, leave much to be desired. As a matter of fact, I have the feeling that I might be headed for a lot of frustration since I have so little computer experience. As always, I'll be grateful for advice.
