Okay, I have a few questions regarding Apples Aperture program. Here is my situation:
I have a friend that is in photography/graphic design. He purchased Aperture for use with his business, but for various reasons he has decided that after using it for a few months that it is not the correct choice for him. He offered to sell the software to me for $50 (i figure it's a steal from the retail price) original instal discs, box and all. I've been interested in trying it out. my questions are these: 1. I know that my 12" powerbook is not officially supported, but he said that he has been running it on a 12" pb at his office using some sort of hack. Are there any legal ramifications from using said hack? (I wouldn't think so, but I figured that I would check) 2. As I've not used the program personally, I'm not sure that it is the correct solution for me. I've read that Aperture copies all of the photos from your iPhoto library. Is there a way to make it just link to the files so that I don't have double the space of pictures on my laptop? (I'd like to keep my iPhoto library intact, in case I want to revert back to using it) 3. If i bought the program from him, and didn't care for it, would it be okay to sell it on ebay or such if I deleted it from my mac? rick | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be February 28 at Pitt Academy, 6010 Preston Highway. | The LCS Web page is <http://www.kymac.org>. | List posting address: <mailto:macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu> | List Web page: <http://erdos.math.louisville.edu/macgroup>
