Rex,

It is true for the Nano, but (IMHO) you won't see any Macs without FW  
for a long time. It is too much of an industry standard, and USB2,  
while great for some things, is not good enough for many others. USB2  
requires a processor, so it HAS to have a computer at one end of the  
wire. FW devices are more independent and can talk between each other  
without a host computer. FW is faster for high-end uses. That's why  
it's on all the camcorders these days.

Fear not, IEEE 1394 will be on Macs for awhile.
