> My two cents worth on the BSoD: quite some time ago, I was having this
problem daily. I was using a Belkin buss -- there's another name for it, but
I
can't think of it; it's a gizmo that allows you to connect several peripherals
to one USB input on the iMac. I had my printer, scanner, and floppy drive
hooked up through it. Finally, when I disconnected it, the problem ceased.
Doing without it is a small inconvenience; I rarely use the scanner or floppy
drive, and now have my printer hooked up direct. But when I do hook up the
scanner through the "buss," the BSoD inevitably appears. Obviously, it's a
hardware problem.

While I'm on (I rarely post, and am not at all sure I'm doing it right), I'd
like to pose an inquiry to the group. Having recently discovered the wonders
of iMovie, I'm in the market for a digital video cam. I'll appreciate any
advice and/or recommendations on what to buy, in the $500 to $700 range. I
don't need a lot of bells and whistles, just a good a good serviceable camera.

I'm told that Sony and Canon are the best brands, yet on the Web I find users
damning their service and support.

Much thanks for any response.

Nolan
