Nolan:

What version of iDVD are you using. Versions 4 and 5 are very  
forgiving about the discs you feed it. However, earlier ones are not.

I assume your Mac is an iMac (last generation.) No matter, any 1 ghz  
Mac with SuperDrive will burn at leat 2X; yours should burn at 4X.  
Any recordable media will simply work at the slower speed of a drive.  
FWIW, burning at half-speed is highly recommended (2X on a 4X drive,  
etc.) to prevent data loss. iDVD does not give you this option, however.

Try a different brand of DVD 1st.  Memorex and Sony DVD-R's are some  
of the most compatible on the market for both burners and players.  
Cheap CD-R's usually always work. DVD's are not that forgiving. Find  
one that works on your Mac and your player and stick with it.

If you have AppleCare protection, give them a call replicating the  
problem in real time.
