Is there a way to back up the Apple address book to a CD for instance?
Every time I have tried this, I later cannot open it. It asks the
question to select an application to open it with, then gives me " an
error has occurred". I backed the stuff up to my iDisk, but I simply
would like my addresses on a CD, in a list form with all the Schmalz.
The address book now has at least the feature to print the names out in
list form which used not to be the case in, I believe, the Jaguar
version still. It just intrigues me how I could go about it. ( I know I
could preserve the stuff by printing it out, but then, suppose I had a
melt down, would I have to reenter each entry anew?)
Years ago I helped myself by putting the list (touch base) on the
screen, then taking a screen picture and saving it as a file. So I
ended up with about ten pages, but I still can check these old
addresses out today, because these files are in my documents and can be
put on CDs. However, the Apple addressbook while printing a list, never
gives you the opportunity to show the list on screen--or?- Even the
palm pilot has that possibility.
