Sounds like the standard combo drive and an extra 512Mb RAM chip will  
accommodate you. I ran Photoshop on 768Mb RAM for years editing  
digital images without much sweat, so don't get worked up over  
Photoshop. Neat Image still gives me a progress bar with 4G RAM  
installed on my G5DP 2GHz. In Photoshop with 1G+ RAM installed RAM  
you can turn on the Bigger Tiles.plugin by removing the "~" from in  
front of it's title which allows Photoshop to process data in bigger  
blocks. No matter the amount of installed RAM, Photoshop will always  
write to disk, so a scratch disk will help. With iBook, I had a 4G  
first partition on an external 7200 Firewire HD assigned as a  
Photoshop scratch disk and Bridge cache. Partitioning a single HD for  
a Photoshop scratch disk is about useless...jf
