Greetings group!
Thought I'd tap once again the expertise of this knowledgeable group to see
if you can solve this one: The one thing about MS Word that I like is the
fact that the fonts in the pull-down menu are actually written in that font
so you know what it looks like before choosing it. As a long-time AW user,
that's where my comfort zone & preferences lie, instead of with Word. But
to change the font, you have to select it first & then type some words to
see what that particular font is, which is not as convenient as it is in
Word....

I once heard that you can change this somewhere so that Appleworks'
pull-down font menu does the same thing Word's does. Would any of you know
if this is true, and if so, how to do this? Hopefully, yes, and that it
will be something easy to do to set that as a default without having to do
things in unknown (to me) places like the terminal and without a working
knowledge of one programming script or another. But in the event it
doesn't, there is someone out there with the expertise and patience to type
out step-by-step instructions...

TIA,
Cathy
