ATI has released new drivers for its RETAIL video cards: http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/mac/macos10-2-ATI-displays.html
What is not immediately clear is that this update is for the retail cards only, not the OEM cards that come with your Mac (it took a bit of digging around on the various Mac fix-it sites to uncover this tidbit of info). ATI is getting more and more vague lately about which cards (retail versus oem) are covered by the updates. I suspect the latest round of uncertainty is because, well, yesterday in simultaneous bloodless coups, the staff at Crazy Apple Rumors ( http://www.crazyapplerumors.com/ ) took over the compound of As The Apple Turns ( http://www.appleturns.com/ ) while at the same time, the staff of As The Apple Turns took over the offices of Crazy Apple Rumors. Both sides have declared a victory of some sort. They then turned their attention to a takeover of Perversion Tracker - aka PvT ( http://perversiontracker.com/ ), but I suspect the logistics got in the way (the Van Tols hang out in Minnesota -- a bit of a long drive from the east coast). ATI would have a rough time if PvT started reviewing their driver updates. Jerry | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be April 27.
