Bernie, do make the jump to OSX. I just jumped back from Europe and am
a bit late in responding to all this Mac-mail. I assure you, you won't
regret it. It is easier than you think. I still at times want to put
my cursor unto the left side where you had everything below the apple
menu, and sometimes I still have a bit of difficulty to find a
particular file, but actually, everything is so well thought out that
it is a pleasure for those with logical thinking and for those with
aestethic feeling, too. The dance, the dock does when the cursor runs
over it, is alone worth a try. Then you will appreciate the name
"Dock". If I -with my 77 years -was able to jump over, I am sure, you
would reach farther much faster. - You know what I actually believe?
There was so much noise made about the difficulty in switching to OSX ,
that it put us all into the "fear" mode instead into the "awe" mode.
It reminds me of the awkward way we are introduced to the decimal
system, while it is so much more rational and easier then the inch and
yard way of measurement. Instead of explaining it from within the
system, we constantly are made to transfer inches into centimeters ,
which makes no sense and is self defeating. Cereal boxes should just
show grams or ounces and not this odd combination. So when entering
into OSX, leave the OS9 behind and simply click on in curious abandon -
and the mystery will open itself to you.
