"Beth Ernst" <bernst at fastline.com> > Does anyone know if it is ok to use a CPU stand that places the Mac on its > side with a Beige G3 desktop?
I had a custom desktop made for my flat beige G3, consisting of a formica covered solid core door with walnut edges, and a couple of self supporting shelves, one of which bridged over the G3 and carried the printer. As my physical desktop grew more and more crowded, I wished I could rearrange it by turning the G3 on its side. There was no room for a real tower on the desktop, as they were so much bigger than a flat G3 on its side. I never did turn the G3 on its side because I heard it was not OK to do that. When I finally had to get a G4 tower, I had to have the cabinet shop make a box for it to replace one of the file cabinets supporting the door. | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be July 22.
