I have a TI-Powerbook G4, 256 MB/55 Mhz, purchased 01/2002. I have
always thought that the battery never kept a very long charge, but it
wasn't a problem as I normally just carry it from room to room at home
and use the adapter. Today, the battery icon (in the bar upper-right,
next to the date) shows with a X in the center. I slipped the battery
out of the case, and clipped it back in, but no change. When I
unplugged the adapter, the computer went dead. Does X mean 'dead'?
Should I add a new battery to my Dear Santa list before I mail his
letter?
Thanks,
Bill M.
