In the early 1980's, I bought a CDC 300mb hard drive, the size of a washing machine. It was said to be big enough to hold "all the records in the Jefferson County Courthouse". About the same time, I bought a 128k RAM card direct from National Semiconductor for my DEC PDP 11/34?, which was as big as a refrigerator.
