Mine hasn't quite been that bad. It's a bit pokey, but tolerable. Of 
course, it is nothing like it was under OS 9. I'm sitting here working on 
distance education stuff, answering questions from students who are 
having trouble playing quicktime movies, running the movies off of a CD 
under VPC while listening to iTunes, and the performance not atrocious. 
(Not great, though). The bad part is listening to the mixture of the 
soundtracks.

I've had more trouble getting hooked up to the internet than anything 
else, but I think that this is because UofL uses ollllld Novell networks.
