I dunno how to avoid the .Mac account --- all I've seen on discussion  
boards is to
. use File -> Backup to make backup copies
. move the backups to the other machines
. use File -> Revert to backup on the other machines

It would also be possible to sync the calendars by using one of the  
macs to run a WebDAV server, and then have the other machines  
subscribe to the centralized calendar.

There could be some other solution, too.
