I assume you have Quit Stuffit, or done a logout/login, or rebooted then attempted trashing the .sit files by one or all of these methods. If that was unsuccessful you could login as root and most likely trash the files. If you haven't set your box up as root read the instruction below...jf
To enable the root user: 1. Open NetInfo Manager, located in Applications > Utilities. 2. Choose Security > Enable Root User, then type a password for the root account. You may need to enter an administrator password to make these changes. 3. Choose Apple menu > Log Out. 4. Choose Other in the Login window, type root in the Name field, then the root password in the Password field.
