I'm just forwarding this for a friend, who posted a problem he's having with OS
X:

Basically my friend says that every so often, the screen on his Mac starts
getting weird artifacts, like a cloud of little dots start appearing around
this mouse pointer. And then eventually he gets a shade that pulls down from
the menu bar that tells him he has to restart, and this screen has that message
in about a dozen languages.

He hasn't found any clue about why this might be happening, what is causing it.
Just that it is apparently the OS X equivalent of the Windows
Blue-Screen-of-Death. Anybody run into this error before and have some clues I
might pass along about the cause and possible cures?

--- Rex.
