I think that Yahoo Groups has a feature where you can create a calendar only 
accessible to members of the group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/

As I recall, the only downside was that everyone has to have a My Yahoo account 
but that's becoming fairly common these days.

Thanks, Susan, I am always benefitting from the questions people ask. 
However, I had to use explorer, Safari wouldn't connect. I need a 
calendar as i need a hole in my head, but I have this urge to try out 
everything, so I created a new cat calender for all the feline 
activities.
