The music on your ipod will also be on your hard drive within iTunes. So if either the ipod or your computer goes haywire the other will still have the music.
If you want further back up I suggest an external firewire hard drive. I am considering buying the 40G ipod. How would you back up your music? Would it also require the purchase of a back-up system, or could you use CDs or DVDs to back it up which is what I am currently doing with itunes? Any suggestions?
