Thanks, Nelson, for the suggestions.

After poking around on the internet, I did order a solvent, not the one that
you found, from fixyourownprinter.com.  They claim it is the same one that
Epson uses.  Who knows?

I did wonder if the yellow could be empty, even though the graphic display
indicates that all colors are at about half full.  I assume that I will have
to take out the present cartridge to introduce the solvent with a syringe,
so I will use a dipstick to try to check the three ink levels.  Boy, that
would be the easy answer if the yellow is empty.

There was a lively exchange on this forum about the source of the
information in those graphic ink level displays, and I seem to remember that
it is only loosely associated with the actual physical reality inside the
cartridge.
