Thanks for your reply, and I did notice that the number of bullets in 
the password line was much longer than what I had typed, but in this 
case the password was for the Airport Router so there is nothing to set 
on each end, (that I know of) just the password for the hub.  I didn't 
change the password for the computers only the Airport Extreme.

All the problems I have had with the database (communications with 
tcp/ip, the CPU processor usage going off the chart, it stays at 100% 
usage by 4d until you move the mouse or get on the internet, then it 
becomes normal, and many other items have all happened since the latest 
security update from Apple earlier this week.  Since then I have not 
been able to get 4d to work properly, so I don't know if this has 
anything to do with the communications problem I am having with the 
Airport router.

I appreciate your help so much, I must find a solution.
