You might want to try getting a copy of Preferential Treatment [1], a freeware script which runs plutil [2] on your plists. I've see this issue errors which say where it thinks the errors are.... so perhaps it would be possible to delete just the offending line. (Chance of success: low. Chance of harm: very low).
