When i look at the contents of each app, there are *more* themes in  
the smaller, new '08 version.

the themes themselves seem to be smaller than their '06 counter parts.
for example, there is a "white" theme in keynote '06 that is around  
56mb. the same theme (name, screen size, etc.) in keynote '08 is 5mb.
