Ward, Thank you. Although your directions differed slightly from what actually worked for me, they solved my problem.
Removing files from the root level Internet Plug-Ins folder did nothing for me, but doing so at the user level fixed my problem. I found two quicktime labeled files in this folder, one named 'quicktime plugin.plugin' and one named 'quicktime plugin.webplugin'. Removing either of these files solved my issue. it seems that having the two in the folder together was the problem. I chose the webplugin one and removed it. Thanks! now I can enjoy the fancy new .Mac Web Gallery feature...
