Marta's Adventure
Yes, I got there, too , about 6:30 , but while pondering where the
end of the line was , because it was winding round about and also
looking for some of the Mac people ,I inadvertently just got up to
the Apple store on the outside of the restricting ropes ( did not
know on which side of the Mall it was, but my guardian angel knowing
I was not good at standing in line had guided me, ) I had walked
right up to the store and went ri in with one of the rushes,
perfect , met Ward at the entrance. I hadn't seen him in person for
quite a while.I received my t-shirt------ but, for heaven's sake, why
had they folded the box it came in the wrong way? The silver with
logo was indeed intended to be on the outside! -
I headed directly to the iPhone and gave a short performance of David
Pogue's musical "I want an iPhone", also made a call right away on
the phone!! It literally worked.
It also was my pleasure to enthusiastically talk about the airport
extreme (Ward having installed that for me a long time ago ) to some
of those young people who wear their caps with bill turned around,
but while giving "GREAT" advice on the airport to them, they were not
able to explain the reason for their strange habit of hat wearing.

I played a bit with the new iMac and had fun with this extremely
pretty small mouse, but my clumsy hands were no match for the
exquisitely manufactured small button on the small mouse, yet I
managed to get the dashboard out , got the city changed from San
Francisco to Louisville in the temperature widget, to elicit from it
the correct temperature, then I met a few comrades and , after having
tried out sitting on the stools and bothering the guys at the GENIUS
BAR --- the black clad ones were the geniuses, the green clad ones
just the run of the mill people, as I was advised, I made propaganda
for the Macgroup after finding out that some of the green clad ones
were unaware of its existence --( a definite hole in their Apple
knowledge - but I forgave them, since they had not been wearing green
for very long)-
I went back out, had a long talk with the t-mobile people , soothing
their disappointment over their being quite ignored there last night
and instilling into them also my hope that AT&T will not be the only
carrier, then heading home -----and while opening my treasured t-
shirt to show to my husband I discovered that the white box should
have been silver, so I bothered my arthritic hands to turn it right
side out and admired the silver sheen, matching the outside of my
power book.
That was it for last night --- but you Apple store people- be
advised- I shall make use of the genius bar and you better be
geniuses when I shell out my questions!
