Greg, I have several like this and if I click on the "Album" header to sort the music by ALBUM then they will all appear in order as you are wanting. If you have the column clicked for "artist" or "name" highlighted then the music will be sorted in a way you can't get what you want.
If you would like to have just Billy Joel's work then create a "smart" folder and give it the name you want, in this case it may be Billy Joel, I have a smart list entitled "Current Smart" where I can change the contents to anything I want. Once you have the folder then click on it and go the "get Information" (Apple ((command key)) and the "I" key). This will bring up the information box that you will tell the smart folder what you want to have included. Keep adding rules as you add additional items to the folder. Watch your dialogue checkboxes to be sure you don't have something checked that will prevent you getting what you want. This is an easy way to change the "groupings" you want to hear without always creating new folders and as new songs are added to the library that fit your criteria they would automatically be added to the folder so if you added another Billy Joel album in November then it would be in your smart folder playlist.
