I use Art Collector to get a lot of my album covers. It uses Amazon and several other sites to get the images. It works like the finder with artists on the left hand side. The ones highlighted do not have cover art. Click on the artist and you will see a search wheel working in the bottom left hand side of the app window. Click on each album to see the art. Find the one you want to use. Click and hold on the image and drag it to the album title. The art is then added to each track. <http://specere.net/artcollector.php> I also use several Applescript's for art work. They are found on this page: <http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php> The Embed Artwork is important as it places the artwork into the meta data of the mp3 file otherwise iTunes does not do this for you.
Now to get the large versions of the iTunes artwork you can use this page. <http://www.thejosher.net/iTunes/> Here are a couple of tips. The Now Playing image area in the lower left corner of iTunes' interface will display whatever artwork is contained in a song file, even if the album artwork is different. This can be useful if you happen to have a scan of the back of a CD, or some other second image you want associated with an album or a particular song: Add the secondary artwork to a song in iTunes (through Get Info) Get Album Art for the song Now when you play the song, the main album art display (CoverFlow) will show the artwork from the iTunes store, while the Now Playing image will show the artwork associated with the track. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:macgroup-bounces at erdos.math.louisville.edu] On Behalf Of Greg Schoettmer Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2007 6:02 PM To: Louisville Mac User Group Subject: [MacGroup] Itunes Album Art Hi everyone. I signed up for the Apple 1-to-1 deal and had my first lesson/meeting this week. We covered iTunes. Although I am a user of iTunes, I simply use the basics. After my lesson I am reorganizing a few things and FINALLY loading all my CDs. It's pretty cool to load a CD and have iTunes go find the album art. Now, what to do when there is no album art available? In Cover Flow View it really hinders the presentation when there's a blank. Is there a way to scan a CD cover and insert it? Any other options to complete the view? Thanks, Greg _______________________________________________ The next Louisville Computer Society meeting will be September 25 at MacAuthority, 128 Breckinridge Lane.
