how? when you press the shutter, the data captured from the CCD is held in the camera memory while the data is written to SD card. errors during the write time can corrupt the SD card. (loss of power/weak battery is a common cause). the possible work a rounds as mentioned in this thread:
1. try plugging it into another computer. 2. remove the SD card and try it in an SD card reader. 3. RTM and reformat the card. the first thing i do with any new card, before using, is reformat the card in camera. 4. try another SD card. 5. if all fails, return as defective.
