Bill, I am waiting for CandyBar 3 before I go missing around with the folder icons. http://www.panic.com/candybar/

One major mental anguish, however, is the ugly folder icons. I found some advice for replacing them with something that is a bit easier to recognize [1], but it involves replacing files in the /System folder... which should be a no-no. Also, the resolutions for the icons I like [2] are not the same as those supplied with Leopard. Is there any reason, other than that messing with /System files is dangerous, that I should not replace these ugly versions of System 7 folders? BTW---I like the new Mail with its data detectors, like the striped background for list view in the Finder, and actually like the new iTunes-like interface to the Finder. I'm amazed that most all the stuff I have on my work machine still works well. Also---I've figured out how to solve the lack of Classic for my laptop: I'll just put a pretty bare installation of Tiger on an external drive, include Hypercard, and use it to run my Hypercard stacks when they are needed.
