I'm gonna throw the Geniuses at Oxmoor under the bus for a second
(sorry guys), but if you were to make a midweek appointment with them
a the Genius Bar, they could possibly help you transfer your files
between systems. If they are unable to do it at the bar, a data
transfer between systems is $50 if you have to leave it with them.

I only say midweek because traditionally it's less busy than on
weekends, and they might have more time to work with you, although
this being holidays, that might not apply for a few weeks. If you can
get the computer in the car, call the store once you reach the parking
lot and someone should be able to wheel a cart out to help you get the
computers in and back out again. If you have just a few files you need
moved from one to the other, you can help the geniuses by moving those
files to a folder on the desktop titled "Move to Mac."

If you use Microsoft Outlook (not Express) to manage calendars, mail
and contacts, you can use a program called O2M ($10 at
http://www.littlemachines.com/)
to convert your Outlook data to formats native to iCal, Mail and
Address Book. If you're using Outlook Express files rather than
Outlook, you can export your data (no calendar information) to
Thunderbird (free email app from Mozilla/Firefox) and move the
Thunderbird preferences folder to your Mac. Once the data is on the
Mac, use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner (free) to prep them for migration into
Mail. Instructions at
(http://www.comeacross.info/2006/05/26/moving-email-from-a-pc-to-the-mac/
).

Requirements for data transfers at the Genius Bar are that both
systems must be running, the PC must be running at least Windows 2000
or better, both systems need a working ethernet port, and ideally,
working USB ports. If your PC requires an older PS/2 keyboard and
mouse, bring them with you. The Geniuses can transfer pictures, music,
movies, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and data from Outlook (not Express)
in a typical data transfer. Transferring Outlook Express data is not
supported. Quicken data can be exported, but may not include all the
features you use in the Windows version. Turnaround time on data
transfers depends on how much prep work you do ahead of time. If
everything is in a single folder on the desktop, then it'll be very
quick and easy. If not, it may take a few days to get it done.

Hope this helps!

Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep
moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because
we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
