The city of Louisville has a computer recycle facility on Meriwether.
Call "City Call" 311 and ask for the hours.

You should have some kind of disc formatting utility (which came with
the compouter) which will zero out your hard drive. System X's disk
utility has a couple of multiple pass options that are more secure than
just zeroing out the data. If you do that, after it starts walk away for
24 hours.
