from macfixit: Aluminum keyboards still can't do startup commands on some Macs [Thursday, January 31st] Users continue to lament the fact that Apple's aluminum keyboards do not support startup commands (holding the option key to select a boot volume, holding the "C" key to boot from an optical disc, etc) on some Macs. Even though this issue has existed for months, Apple has yet to document it in its Knowledge Base or anywhere else we could find.
